Default paper size cannot be changed

Hi

When I'm going to send any documento to any printer, the default paper
size is "letter". This is not my printers use -- they used "A4".

I change to "A4" but when I reboot the default printer is "letter" again.

How can I set the default paper size ?

Thanx a lot.

a) Within your application, as that application's default.
Use Printer Setup or similar menu item to access this. Not
all applications permit this, and some do not override the
Printer's defaults. In any case, set all applications to
the same A4 default, and see what happens.

b) You can set _some_ defaults using the Properties tab of
the Printer object; one of these is paper size. Defaults
set at this level will be used by any application that has
no defaults set, or whose printing instructions are limited
to the current print job. They may be used by applications
whose defaults conflict with the printer default (eg, a
custom paper size that won't fit within the printable
area.) They will also be used when you drag'n'drop text
files onto the Printer object. However, the interactions of
printer drivers and applications vary - there is no
standard, which is the reason plaintive pleas like yours
keep reappearing here. Bah!

c) If you are printing over a network, your application's
printing instructions _should_ override any defaults set at
the printer level. In any case, defaults have to be set at
the printer server level, but that's beyond my expertise.
