Default Fonts Appearance changed

Through an update rollout process (XP Professional PCs +SP1) of software
(business objects) the default font appearance of nearly every window (and
text) changed to BOLD view.
The problem appears several times, so it seems to be a real problem...

More details:
1.) Already the Login Windows uses bold font for static text (so this could
not only be user dependent), icon text on desktop => bold, menu text in word
=> bold.
2.) There's a second effect, which probably is a part ot it. Most
configuration items in the following window could not be set anymore
(\Desktop\Properties\Appearance\Effects\ => items greyed => list box missing
=> changes don't take affect)
3.) Because different PCs are affected I don't expect problems with the
video controller (driver)

What I already tried:
1.) sfc.exe /scannow => found nothing
2.) Tried several standard themes, additionally changed several
\Desktop\Properties\Appearance\Advanced\Items .. to deselect bold property =>
no effect
3.) Prooved \HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes\Ms Shell Dlg ... Dlg2 => seems to be ok
4.) Changed Regestry Keys at \HKCU\Control
Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics\xxxxFont Settings => These settings seems to
work..

But I need the source for "global" changes...
What does the system uses already for Login Window ...

Thanks for help

Through several side effects it used a few times more to approach to the
problem.
But finally I found the solution.
For all those who have same effects on their PCs...
Deleting our old business objects software causes deleting the regestry key :
\\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Fonts\ => Tahoma.ttf
which is an important system font, of course.
Hint :
This software was repackaged, so in the end it was a selfmade problem...
But for all those working with snapshot utilities, be careful... ;-)

Thanks

I'm glad you got it sorted. Thanks for posting the resolution so others
in the future can benefit. It was nice of you to take the time to do
this.
