Default File Extensions

When creating a new file with FrontPage it seems to want to default to
calling them .htm - I'd like to change that to .html but can't find a setting
that would let me do that. It should be possible; can someone tell me how to
do this?

There is no setting for this. The only file in your web that would have a specific name and
extensions, is the default document (home page) which is based on the requirement of the server your
site is hosted on. The remaining pages can have the .htm extensions
