Default Email Client

I keep getting a pop-up that says I have no default email client please run
Outlook. I have Outlook Express as my default client and it works fine. How
do I keep from getting this pop-up message?

go to add and remove programs and hit the tab on the left that says set
program access and defaults in there you will see a tab that says
choose a default e-mail program. in there hit outlook express this will
re register that outlook is your default e-mail client if this doesn't
work it could be something 3rd party.

Thanks. But, I see no tab that says "choose a default e-mail program." The
only options are: Computer manufactuerer, Microsoft Windows, Non-Microsoft
Windows, Non-Microsoft, and Custom. That's it.

What now?

that's because that is NOT where you set the default email client.
Go to Control Panel-Internet Options and select the Programs tab. You can
then select what application is the default email client there.

I use Gmail & love it. I use
Mozilla Firefox as my browser.
So I don't use any Microsoft
products for either of these
tasks.

It used to be, when I was brows-
ing, if I clicked on a mailto link,
a new tab would open with a
blank Gmail compose box, & I'd
type in that & send it off.

A while back, when I did this,
nothing happened for about 15
seconds. Then suddenly, 58
Internet Explorer blank windows
would pop up & cascade all over
my screen.

It doesn't happen on every web-
site; in fact, I think it only happens
when I try to reply to a Craigslist
ad.

When I've tried to set up Gmail as
my client in the control panel, it is
not there. Nor is it there when I try
to configure IE's internet options.

Seems to me this trouble would
stop if I could tell WinXP that I'm
using Gmail & no other email program.

This thread was the closest one I
could find to the problem. I do get
a message to the effect that the
default mail client is not installed.

Can you help?
