Greetings,

I have email accounts with three ISPs, but I almost always send email from one of them. Is it possible to get Outlook 2002
(SP3) to automatically use the desired account, so as to avoid having to select it every time I create a new email?

Thanks
LarryS

On what basis are you looking for Outlook to know which is the desired
account?

I would assume that there is a preference or default setting; e.g., always send via Hotmail. Naturally the default could be
overridden for individual email messages.

Sorry Larry, I misunderstood your question.

Absolutely. When you set-up the accounts you define the default account
(Tools/Accounts) that will be used when sending mail items by default (when
selecting the Send function).

When you wish to send using one of the other accounts, select the Send
Using... function on the File menu of the mail item and you will be asked to
select one of the active mail accounts.

On a similar note I have numerous accounts that I use one of which is only
valid when I'm on dialup - ie not on the LAN. If I'm on the LAN it gives me
an error each time it synchronises. How do I temporarily disable one
account to not synchronise??

Uncheck it from the send/receive group.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Gargamil asked:
