Default action of my computer icon

Dear Experts,

I have Windows XP SP2. All of a sudden my computer started misbehaving. I
have turned on the following.

1. Single Click open
2. View List in the folders.
3. Open new folder in the same windows.

When I click mycomputer icon from start menu or it opens up a search
windows. On the rightclick also Search is the default action on mycomputer
icon.

When I click a folder or a drive in my computer window, it opens up a new
window even though "open in same windows" option is turned on.

Please help

Hi Dinesh,

Try the .REG fix here. It should fix both the problems.

Open each folder in the same window:

Very Many Thanks Dear Ramesh.

I suffered a lot with this. In fact, I tried many many solutions and one
actually worsen my case. It removed all the commands available as a result
the format command for drive became default when I clicked a drive.

Your solution fully fully fully fully solved my problem.

Truely speaking, I am bound by the mannerism otherwise I would not like to
belittle your help by saying thanks.

Love and Regards,
