Deadlock and backup errors

Our main server, has a c: (OS) Drive, and E: (data) drive

The E: drive currently has 10GB spare

Therefore, last week we added two further disks to the raid 5 configuration
to create a new logical drive (F:)

Since then, around 8.00pm in the evening just when our backup kicks off we
get numerous warnings\error in the system and application logs. (see below)

Event Type: Information
Event Source: Application Popup
Event Category: None
Event ID: 26
Date: 03/08/2005
Time: 20:47:38
User: N/A
Computer: PICARD
Description:
Application popup: Windows - EXCEPTION : Possible deadlock condition.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Backup Exec
Event Category: None
Event ID: 57481
Date: 03/08/2005
Time: 20:47:40
User: N/A
Computer: PICARD
Description:
An unusual error (999) was encountered while enumerating the contents of the
directory:

E:\data\USERS.

It is possible that files or subdirectories have not been backed up. Please
examine your job log or catalogs to ensure this directory tree was backed up
in its entirety.

Our backup also fails to back up some files on the server, checking on
verita's website it says I need to run chkdsk on the partition. A bit wary
of doing this on a raid 5 config.

Do anyone else know why these errors are appearing around 8.00 pm just
after the backup starts, and could these errors be stopping the backup
working properly as the files maybe in some sort of deadlock?

Apologies if this sounds confusing.
Your help is much appreciated.

Regards
Vin
