dcpromo failed

I've tried dcpromo but after input the password and starting the process there a popup "the domain can not be contacted". What the problem?
 
Probably a DNS issue. Double check your DNS configuration. Are all your
zones pre-created on a W2k DNS server with all the appropriate A, NS and SOA
records?
