Daylight Savings Problem

S

Snapper

I live in eastern Australia. On the weekend daylight savings started.
Unfortunately I think that Windows XP thinks that it doesn't start until the
last weekend in October.

Just wondering if there's a fix for this or do I have to simply put up with it
til the end of the month?

The Time Windows Server doesn't seem to be so reliable anymore or WXP has
trouble synchronizing with it... But you can synchronize your system clock
with another time server... there are plenty to choose from.

There are two ways you can sync your clock with an atomic time server:
1.- Through a Registry edition; Go to Start\Run\and type; "regedit" (no
quotes) and Enter... go to the "Servers" key and add a new string value;
right click on the right side panel of "servers" and create a new REG_SZ
value and name it as the next number in the string values list... next
double click on the new value and edit the data with the atomic clock server
url you choose from the link. and to finish edit the (default) value data
with the value number you've just added.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DateTime\Servers

or 2.- by way of the Control Panel\Date & Time\Internet Time and copy &
paste the time server url in the "Servers" dropdown window and click on
Update now, Apply & Accept. You can use any url of the servers available in
the "tf.nist" link below, or you can use a local time server.

Set Your Computer Clock Via the Internet
NIST Internet Time Service (ITS)

Another option is to install the software in the link to handle the clock
sinchonization.

Mine updated okay (but after a manual synchronisation).
