I just bought a new computer with Windows XP. On my old computer I had
somehow put a Date/Time icon on my desktop and now I can't remember how to do
that? I already have the Date/Time in the lower right corner, but I like
having an icon on my desktop. How do I do that?
Thanks

Start --> Control Panel --> Right click on Date/Time icon --> Create
shortcut.

Since shortcuts can not be stored in Control Panel, it will be sent to the
Desktop.

the file is timedate.cpl
Locate using search in my computer

You can put the file as shortcut which doesn't gain anything. Have to click
on it to open. just like system tray icon.

Shortcut path c:\windows\system32
or
can copy to Startup folder. THe file will actually be open displaying a
"Large Icon" of clock.

Open My computer and put shortcut in
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
then opens on startup. again it's a large icon
Username is your username
Obviously I'm using "C" drive.

You can create a shortcut to the file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\timedate.cpl,
executing this file brings up the date/time window.
