Date function not working

I have a 4MB ppt file with over 600 slides in which i cannot get the date to
show up in the slides. To test this i copied 10 or so of the slides and put
them in a new ppt file and added a date - the date function is fine, works
exactly like it should. (View, header and footer, click on the date and
format). I suspect it's something like the file is too big - is this
possible??

Hi,

Two things to check- Is there a date function appearing on your Slide
Master? When you sue the Date dialog box, are you clicking *Apply to All*,
and not just *Apply*?

It worked! I tried numerous times with Apply to All and Apply - just to see
if i could get either of them to work. I can't tell you how many times i
messed around between the master (using the header/footer command and/or the
placeholder dialog box) to no avail, but this time i was in the master view,
then selected the header/footer and date function, then went into the master
view placeholder, date was unchecked and i checked it and it worked. Must
have been something about doing it in the wrong order.

Thanks so much!

Hi,

No worries.... it is not something I use personally!
