Database problems

I am unable to connect to any database from any database
program in windows xp. I think the problem might be
because of a automatic windows update called - Microsoft
Data Access Components KB870669, and ontop of that I'm
unable to uninstall it. It gives me a invalid INF file
error and aborts.
