Database only saving in read-only mode

I have a Access db,originally done in 97 but converted to 2000 and then to
2003 and I can't save it onto any other computer or CD in an editable mode.
It only wants to make a copy in read only mode.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

If the file was copied to a CD at some point, the file attributes (in
Windows) got changed to "read only", since a CD is a read-only device.
Check the file properties and make sure it's set for read/write (or the
read-only is not checked).
