My MS Access database has become 'read only', help!

My MS Access 2003 (part of Office Pro 03) database changed to read only
yesterday for no obvious reason. I had loaded an evoluent mouse onto my
system and did a system restore to remove the 'mouse manager' programme but
that didn't change anything. I have checked the properties & removed 'read
only' didn't work, it was a shared doc I removed that but t didn't change
anything, I performed a repair in the remove/add programs this morning and it
did work briefly, so I took a copy. Then I made it a shared document again,
it worked for a while (10 mins) then became a 'read only' file again. There
are over 2000 records on this dbase. Any help gratefully received

Ellie,

As I think your have srumized, this is probably a PC/Netowrk/WIndows issue
rather than within Access. So the possibilities are endless.

You might try copying the file to a different PC, access it from that PC,
and re-trying what you did.

That's "Plan A"

"Plan Z" / last resort might be to export data and as much as you can to a
new DB.
