I have, for the last 2 years, had the wonderful task of updating and
streamlining databases left behind by my predecessor (what a fun way
to learn Access!). My current issue, one I have worked around as best
I could, is that all the databases are "locked down". I have been
able to do some odd things, like exporting and importing tables/
queries/reports/etc in order to get around a complete lack of "design
mode" but I finally hit a wall. The database I'm working on now, an
Access 97 db, doesn't have the "Database Window" button that allows
you to look at and change tables, queries and the like. I've just got
Design view on a single form. Which, as you can imagine, is quite
limiting.
So, the question is "How do I 'unlock' the database?" Is there
something I'm missing? I haven't run across any sort of solution so
far.
