Database has Unknown Publisher

When I open some Access 2000 databases that I have created, I get a warning
that it has an Unknown Publisher. Since Access was written by Microsoft,
and the OS is Windows XP, why am I getting this warning?

Good question.

To get rid of the dumb warning, go to:
Tools | Macro | Security
and set it to Low.
If you do not see that menu option, right-click the toolbar area, customize,
and reset the Menu Bar.

This was written in Access 2000, used in 2003, but sent back to me for
revisons, where I am still using 2000. I don't have that tool bar option,
even after resetting the Menu Bar.

The Microsoft article also addressed Access 2003.

I don't use the database, only develop it and send to the group who needs
it, who use 2003. I have not asked if they get this message also.

Okay, the problem exists in A2000, not A2003.

To address the issue, a developer can add a certificate to the database. It
may be that this is what they have done, in which case I am not aware of a
way around that in A2000.
