DATA1.CAB Problem

I was trying to update software and got the message that
my Data1.cab file was missing. I went to the web and
downloaded two separate Data1.cab files in zip files.
When I try to extract the Data1.cab files from the zip
file using Winzip, I get the following:

Winzip cannot open DATA1.CAB because it is not in the
standard Microsoft CAB format (as defined in mid-1998).
The "signature bytes" required by Microsoft CAB
specification are missing.

Does anyone have any solution on how I can get Winzip to
open the Data1.cab zip file or give me another solution
in getting a Data1.cab file for my computer? I'm
befuddled!

There are hundreds, maybe thousands of programs that have a data1.cab file.
What program are "you" referring to? Can't read minds yet!

If it is for a Microsoft program (seems to be) extract it from the program
CD!

DATA1.CAB is most likely a request for the Microsoft Office CD.
..CAB files can contain anything, they are much like .ZIP files.
