The "signature bytes" are missing

I installed a gem, and play it. It worked fine!
But when I took it off and reinstalled some time later, I get this!
And No it's not a copy!
Help, please!

"Winzip cannot open C:\data 2.CAB because it is not in the standard
Microsoft CAB format (as defined in mid-1998). The "signature bytes" required
by the Microsoft CAB specification are missing.

Anyway I looked it up on the Internet, but there is no help anywhere. They
all assume that it is a copy or that some other compression program will open
it. But it doesn't

Then contact the game mftr.'s tech support for help with their product.
My guess is that when you uninstalled, the game's uninstaller left some
bits behind which are causing a conflict. Since we don't know the name
of the game, you can't get more specific help. If this is an old game,
try running it in Compatibility Mode.
