I just performed a clean install of Windows XP with SP2 on my laptop.
I reformatted the main partition and installed the patched OS on the
system. Unfortunately, Windows XP no longer recognizes my D drive
partition with "My Documents" data. Windows XP list the drive under
"My Computer"; yet double-clicking it brings the following error
message.

D:\ is not accessible.

Access is denied.

The other partitions are readily available and accessible. This
situation may relate to the local policies and permissions. The worse
case scenario would be that the partition became unstable and
corrupted. This occurrence has never happen before so I am still
deciphering the situation. I have to configure my system settings like
Sharing drives; Permissions; Folder Options; My Document location;
etc. Let me know if you have any ideas and suggestions about properly
setting up the drive partition for network sharing; and how to resolve
this situation.

Robert,

first log on with administrator rights and try to take ownership
of D:\.
