Data Execution prevention - Microsoft windows

I'm having a problem when I open a file on my pictures. Every time I open the
file the message Data Execution Prevention-Microsoft windows come up. It
states "To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program
Name: Windows Explorer
Publisher: Microsoft Corporation.

I scan the document on Nortron Internet Security and there are no viruses.
The file is clean.
Before I loaded the file on the computer I was not on the internet yet.
I don't know why I kept getting this error message. What do I need to do to
stop this error message, since there is no virus.

Try this:

Right-click "My Computer" and go to the Advanced tab. Under "Performance"
click the Options button.
Go to the Data Execution Prevention tab.
Click the first option, 'Turn on DEP for essential Windows Programs and
Services only'.
Then click OK.

Something is amiss with your computer. A program (ostensibly Windows
Explorer but that could be misleading) is attempting to execute
program code from a memory address location that is specified as being
used for data and not for program code.

This is usually cause by a virus/spyware infestation or by a poorly
programmed application program.

Is your Norton fully up to date, with the virus definition files not
less than a week old? Try launching the Norton Live Update function
manually and see if there are addiitional updates that you have not
gotten via the Live Update function. This sometimes happens. (by
this point I would normally be suggesting that you ditch Norton and
get a different product).

Do you have any specific spyware prevention products on your computer?
Norton is not an antispyware product and cannot be counted on to
detect all of these so you do need something else. At a minimum you
should download and install the free beta version of Microsoft
Antispyware from http://download.microsoft.com

Alternatively, or in addition, you might try the free 14 day trial
version of Webroot's SpySweeper from
http://www.webroot.com/consumer/downloads
