Data Change Causes Crash

I am working on a 10MB spreadsheet with some large tables of calculated data.
I have been using the spreadsheet for some time and now want to go back and
change some of the basic data. When I enter say a 5 into a cell to change a
reference level Excel says it must shut down and goes into auto recovery
mode, which takes forever. I have tried several approaches to solve this
problem so far without success. Things tried, shutting of auto calculate, I
removed about half the file, it was 20MB. I have lots of array calculations,
also when I am using the spreadsheet each time I change other input data
(which still work) it takes about 30 seconds to calculate, I have 2GB of RAM
and a dual core processor. Also I have several 3D graphs. The sheet that I am
trying to make the changes in is referenced all over the place.

Have you got lots of indirects?
I've seen that de-stabilise a workbook before.
If not then it might be a rogue add-in. try opening Excel in safe mode
and see if your file works ok.
Here is some info on safe mode:

Then open the add-ins 1 by one to find the problem.
