DAO will not uninstall!

I need to uninstall DAO in order to upgrade the drivers for my ATI
AllinWonder video card. When I attempt to do this I first get ..error 1316
...A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file
C:\windows\installer\dao.msi
I click ok and then get..error 1603 - Fatal error during installation.
Consult Windows Installer Help (Msi.chm) or MSDM for more information.
Can anyone tell me how to correct the problem and uninstall the DAO?

Thanks

I am having a similar problem. I am trying to uninstall my Palm Desktop so I
can install a better version that includes Media. However, as it uninstalls,
error 1316 shows up saying "a network error occurred while attempting to read
from file c:\windows\installer\palmone.msi" and then the fatal error during
installation message shows up. probably the same solution will work for both
of our situations.

Hi All,

The solution is simple. Reinstall DAO Drivers from ATI. Once rebooted go
back and uninstall the DAO program or Drivers. This way after everything is
uninstalled and the Windows Registry cleaned, then reboot and install the
updated drivers and programs from ATI.

I also have the ATI All-in-Wonder 2006 AGP Graphics Card.

Well, I ended up finding a solution to my issue. I installed the Windows
Install Clean Up utility, and cleaned out the file I downloaded. I then
reinstalled my Palm Desktop and it worked fine!
