Damaged JPEGs

How is it that on 11/26/03 - 111 JPEG files in three
seperate folders were damaged (I can see the names and
size only) and I can no longer open them in ANY viewer?
My wife nor I recall opening these files on that date,
yet they were all "modified" at 10:53 or 10:54 AM???
When I try to open them I get a message that the 'file
has an invalid file format' I've tried opening them in
PHOTO PAINT, PAINT SHOP, WINDOS VIEWER, tried importing
them as JPEGS in PAINT SHOP etc. I've also noticed that
the "created" date is missing.
Help! I've spent 6 hours trying to recover these (baby)
pics!

Do any of these files have a .vbs extension?

If the answer is yes...you have some version
of the LoveLetter virus.

I just encountered the same problem today 12/03/03. Did
you find any solution yet? I am desperate for these
invaluable pictures. I read the reply you received about
the "lovletter" virus, but it is not the case here. The
file extension is .jpg.

I have also experienced the same problem. Using Windows
XP SP1 and not sure when the event occurred, but it seems
to be near the same time I began having problems
inserting jpg images into Word or Powerpoint documents.
Any luck finding an answer?

There is a virus know to do this. Is your scanner up to date?
