No because you did not say what kind of drive it is.
If it is a CD or DVD, the most likely cause is failed hardware. In other
words, replace it with a new drive.
They don't seem to be especially reliable these days.
Optical drives do not have too long a life unfortunately.. you may need to
change it out.. try a regular stereo CD player cleaner disc before you
change it out though.. could be it's just a mite dirty..
