D drive Problem

I have a HP laptop. I have no recovery disc's. Windows XP Home. Upon
installing the D drive, error message, registry incomplete. The D drive
unit is DVD TSSTcorp CD/DVD W Ts L532R. The drive will work with a LINUX
boot up. System Restore was not successful.

Registry?

Did you physically reinstall the DVD drive, or do you mean something
else?

I have physcally removed the drive. I have then placed it back in. I keep
getting error code 19. I am working with 314060. Nice to know that others
have had this problem. Thank you.
