cut and paste bug or undetectable virus?

running xp pro with office 2k (also tried installing xp). i will copy
text, images, whatever (say in word/excel), then go and paste into
another doc/spreadsheet/powerpoint and instead of what i copied, i get
a little blue image that when expanded, looks like a mobile phone??? i
have a coworker that has the same problem, except when he does it, he
gets an image of the letter "G"???

anyone seen this before/know how to fix?
