Hello, I was wondering if you could help as it is quite eregent. I downloaded
some software that lets you change the start up login meun on windows, the
problem is it only lets me log into one of my account. I am running windows
XP Home edition and have 2 accounts on it, one is for me (the admistrator)
which is password protected and one with out a password for friends and
family (this though is a restricted account). So the problem is when I login
I can only access the limited account and not my admistrator on as a result I
can't delete the startup as it was installed on the one I can't get into. I
have files in my account which I need urgently. Please I hope you can make
sense of this and would be thrilled if you can helpme get rid of this. Also I
have work due tommorow and it is on my admisistor account which I can't
ascess. Please can you help. I have nearly tried everything. Any info would
be great. Regards, Owen

Dear Owen,

It is impossible to not have an administrator account on Windows XP, or any
other Windows Opearting System. So you must have forgotten or mispelled you
user name or password. (It may possibly be the program but if you can't
delete it you can't go that direction and try it) If all else fails and you
really need something on the administrator account boot up the computer and
press F8 repetiatly until a screen pops up. Select command prompt. If you
don't know how to use this then i don't know what else to say... If you do
hit:
"cd (path to the folder whatever you need is in)"
then put a floppy in the drive and say
"copy (whatever the name of the thing you want to copy) A:\
Now it should be on the floppy drive. Go to another computer and you can
open it there.

Hi

Boot into Safe Mode (tap F8 repeatedly early in the computer/Windows
startup process)

If no user logon appears in Safe Mode where you can type in the
user account name "Administrator" (or click on it), press
Ctrl+Alt+Del twice.

at the login screen (after a reboot, not a logoff) press control-alt-del
to see the full login screen
