Customize Outlook Today in Office 2000

I am a Windows 2000 user and I have two problems with Office 2000 or the
operating system for both. I can't successfully install SP-3 (which I have
tried several times) or use the "Customize Outlook Today" button either. I
have tried to fix "Customize Outlook Today" button by editing my register (as
suggested) but it did not work. I have also tried a number of variations to
install SP-3 (i.e. disk 2 in and out, full and short download, limiting the
number of downloaded files, etc.) nothing has work for this either. Is there
anyone there who has either of these working after this and how was it fixed?

What happens when you try and install SP3?
note that support calls regarding installation issues are free (I think).

It goes through the install process and then says the installation was
unsuccessful.

I'd get onto Support and see about sending log files for the installation.
