customize outlook today does not work

I have used the "Customize Outlook Today" button to
customize my desk top and now it no longer lets me make
changes. Can anyone give me suggestions as to what I can
do to get this button to work again. I have Outlook 2000
SR-1 (9.0.03821) Corporate or Workgroup.
