Custom Install Wizard

I ran the custom installation wizard and setup all the
options I wanted. I tested it on a machine where a user
already had Outlook 2000 installed. Everything worked
great and I was happy with the results. All was good
until a new user logged onto that PC. When he/she opens
Outlook 2003 for the first time, it sets up a new profile,
as expected. After you put in the name of the exchange
server and the mailbox name, it looks like it's creating
the profile and I get this message:

"Unable to open your default e-mail folders. A disk error
on the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has occurred.
Contact your System Administrator."

I am the system administrator. The exchange server is
fine, all other users are using it with no problem. I
have searched the KB for info and nothing.

Has anyone else seen this? I need help. I have to deploy
Outlook 2003 very soon.

Is this the exact error or a (free) translation of it? Make sure the
permissions on the mailbox are set correctly. Can you succesfuly resolve
both the name of the server and the mailbox?

This is the exact message. I can successfully resolve the
name of the exchange server and the mailbox name. What do
you mean about checking the permissions on the mailbox.
I'm the administrator and can open anyone's mailbox and I
ge the same message. I can't imagine it would be a
permission issue since I can use the same setup on another
box running Outlook 2002. Thanks for your help.

I just received the same message on an end users computer. This user
already had an email account the was working successfully. The user
was trying to move a mail message off the exchange server and into a
..pst file when he received the message. I successfully moved the mail
message without receiving the error. My guess is that it's a generic
error warning. If you use a default delivery location that is anything
other than the exchange, try deleting and recreating it. I was unable
to find any white paper on this issue either

This doesn't sound like a problem with Outlook or Exchange to me but a DNS
miss configuration.Check all the involved DNS entries meaning hostname and
ip-address of Domain Controllers, Exchange servers and server side DHCP
configuration or the local static IP-configuration
