custom animation working yesterday now doesn't - why?

I put together one slide with different smaller pictures dissolving in/out as
custom animation to fit to music. It all worked perfectly yesterday. On a
final run through this evening, although the music plays, all the custom
animation pictures do not appear (but appear back on the slide when I stop)
What is going on? How do I resolve it? I need urgent help, please - my
final rehearsal is Saturday! If anyone wants to email me with a solution,
please go ahead. PS: think the PP version os 2002.
