Animation issue

I have just completed our Annual Report on pp 2007 for presentations. I have
set up several slides w/ custom animation. For some reason, the program is
not letting me change or delete the animations. (they are different for all
the slides).
The remove button is available, but it won't remove the animation.
The menu on the animation appears all in grey.
Then if I do manage to get it to come up, If I attempt to change the start,
it lets me, but stays on the original setting.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
