Custom Animation in Powerpoin

I'm having trouble with custom animation that I've created with anouther
computer. I have PPT 2000, do I need to upgrade or is there some add-in I
can access? Also, I've tried going to the public library and all they have
are MACs which can open the presentation either. Is this an issue with MACs,
or are they out of date?
 
If you did the custom animation using a version of PowerPoint later than
2000 then there is a good chance that it will not be available in your 2000.
You can download the 2003 viewer which should display your animation.

I'm sorry, I'm confused. Are you having trouble playing the animation
correctly, or are you having trouble actually opening the file?
