y cursor spontanius jumps over the screen while i'm not clicking on it. I
tried a new mouse but the problem stays the same. I installed the mouse
driver again but also the problem stays the same. It's not a virus because I
checked that trough a virusscan. Is there anyone of you who knows how I can
solve this problem? Thanks for helping me.

Please provide the manufacturer/brand name,type/category(as regards
PS/2,serial,USB,wireless,infra-red,radio
frequency,opto-mechanical,optical,laser,etc.) of both your current(older)
mouse and the new one with which you tried in vain.

Does this happen when you are typing? On your laptop?

If so, it's a notorious problem that lots of people suffer from - the heel
of your thumb brushes the touchpad and makes the cursor jump. Suddenly you
find you're typing inside a sentence you wrote a couple of minutes ago!

My new mouse is a standard optical mouse, not wireles, it's a USB PS/2 mouse,
and the manufacturer is: QMotion. The old mouse was excatly the same one.

No, it isn't only happening while I'm typing, also when I'm surfing on the
web or playing a game. My computer is a desktop pc.

It is either a USB mouse OR a PS/2 mouse. It can't be both.

If it's plugged into a USB port, it's a USB mouse.

Otherwise it's a PS/2 mouse.

Unless the cord has a PS/2 plug and he's using an adapter to plug it into a
USB port. Or vice/versa.

The mouse type is defined by the connector it is using.
