cursor jumps around when typing

HI Friends,

I have a problem with my cursor jumping around when I am
typing email or a text file. The cursor randomly jumps
from word to word. Is this a hardward problem?

I am using a Dell Latitude.

P.S.

If you've got XP you can also use the tool that allows
the mouse pad to be deactivated when typing. Again - this
is only relevant if you've got a laptop.
