Cursor in Word 2003

How can I let the cursor staying on it's position in a document, while I go
to somewhere else in the document looking something up some pages further,
after what I press an arrow-key to return to the (earlier) position of the
cursor?

PS: This was normal in Word 2000 and earlier, in Word 2003 it seems to be
changed.

The problem is most likely that that Tools > Options > Edit tab > "Use smart
cursoring" is turned on. This will force the cursor to move as you scroll up
and down.

From Word's help:
Use smart cursoring: Specifies that the insertion point moves as you scroll
up or down. When you press the LEFT ARROW, RIGHT ARROW, UP ARROW, or DOWN
ARROW keys, the insertion point responds at the page currently in view, not
at its position prior to scrolling.

Yes!!! That did help!!

I searched the Options in Word a long time but appareantly I missed that one.
Now the options is switched off, and works exactly as what I described.
