For some reason my cursor has started flicking on and off in outlook 2007 - I
have no idea why. Can anyone help?
I'm also getting continual messages that a data file has not been closed
properly last time Outlook was in use. All appears normal at shutdown time,
but still the message persists.
Any help appreciated.
Regards
Sam

For the flickering cursor, is Outlook being indexed? For the shutdown message, ensure that you don't have additional instances of outlook.exe running.

Some common reasons why Outlook will not shut down completely when you click either the X or Exit:

1. PDA synchronization software with your PDA in the cradle.
2. WinFax Pro (especially 10.02 in Outlook 2003) - contact their support for an alleged fix.
3. Franklin-Covey Plan Plus!
4. COM Add-ins.
5. Mail reminder add-ins that keep a stub of Outlook open in the background to check for new mail and fire reminders.
6. Anti-virus/firewall programs that are set to scan incoming and outgoing mail.

Many thanks Milly,
It turned out to be No 5 on your list - Mail Reminder Add-in.
I would never have found that without your kind involvement.
Thanks again, much appreciated.

Flickering has ceased. Steady as a rock now! All seems to be fixed.
Thanks again.
