Current Update to Defender

I've also have been having the same problem with the current update
(1.13.1276.16).

Defender displays that it is using 1.13.1276.3. When I check for program
updates it tells me that the program and signatures are current. Yet, I
continually receive prompts to download and install update 1.13.1276.16.

I've seen about 3 other users with this same issue tonight. One suggestion
is to remove the new update--perhaps using msiexec and the .msi file, or
perhaps using the Windows Installer cleanup tool:

Apparently the update isn't getting fully applied, thus the cycling effect.
I haven't seen this first hand (yet.)

The resolution described in the trouble report suggested by Bill Sanderson
appeared to work.
