what can cause my laptop to NOT respond to this command??

situation: cursor locks up, computer is 'frozen' and ctrl-
alt-delete command elicits NO response....

HELP!

Have you considered whether it's overheating??

It is very likely caused by a virus. Do a complete system scan with up to
date antivirus software.
