When I press Ctrl-Alt-Delete, the task manager does not come up. I can open
it by clicking on taskmgr.exe.

How can I get Ctrl-Alt-Delete to work again. I am using XP Home with all the
updates including SP1

Thanks in advance.

This is symptomatic of virus infection. What does a scan with a current
(post-2002 version using updated definitions) antivirus program show?

I did do a virus scan with the latest McAfee definitions. Any ideas?

Thanks

Place a copy of Taskmgr.exe in C:\Windows\System32 folder. Delete an extra
copy if present in C:\Documents and Settings\<your username> folder.
