CSS Failure

Hello:
Using FP 2002 on XP Pro.
A Frontpage 2002 website is not recognizing a stylesheet in the root
directory.
The file exists. It has not been altered. I even brought a copy from the
server (where the site is functioning properly) to the authoring directory
on the local hard drive.
In FP 2002 the file is displayed in the Format Stylesheet Links dialog, but
the styles are not applied. The links to the stylesheet are still present
and unmodified. No global changes have been made to the site pages to alter
code either prior to or after the page links.
The site on the web server is still functioning properly. The site on the
local hard drive from which the site is published is not. Any ideas?

It may be all your inline styles that are interfering
- move them to your style sheet
Plus many styles will not show in Design view (all your table borders), and will only render in File preview in Browser

Thanks Stefan:
Worked fine yesterday. Been working for quite awhile without a hitch (more
than a year with this design).
I tried to repair it out of the help menu, but that didn't work.
Guess I'll uninstall and reinstall. After the reinstall I am left wondering
about all the security issues that were yesterday resolved, but now are
questionable due to reinstallation of an MS Office component. If that
doesn't work, I'm going back to notepad after using FP since 1.0. Just tired
of this kind of thing.

You're cutting off your nose to spite your face. There has to be a logical
reason why your style sheet is not working on your HD if it works on your
web. Check and see that the filename of the style sheet has not been
altered. and that the number of ../ before it is correct. It would seem that
your pages are not linking to the style sheet, and that is often the reason.
Are there any spaces in the name of your style sheet? Look for something
like this.
