ok i got two computers both running xp pro connecting throught a crossover
network (and i know lil about this)

now on the host i got the shared internet connect.
but the client can't access the internet i get a "cannot find server"
nor can the client access the shared docs..

now the host can't access the shared docs form the client
(never could) but before if i put something in the hosts shared docs i could
retrieve
it from the client

now before sometimes the network would work on both but every now and again
it would just stop
but i think it's just dead now cuz it's been about a week an no connection
i've tried running the network setup wizard a few times with no luck an i
can ping the client from the host but not vice versa..

any help would be appericated thanks

You apparently are trying to use Windows Internet Connection Sharing
(ICS). Here are links to help you with that:

http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics - ICS
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/clientwiz.htm - XP
ICS - Client Setup Using the Network Setup Wizard

- ICS for Win2000 - DialUp WAN Connection

ok going on day ten now with out a network

can't seem to find the problem
which was why host can see client but client can't see host.(using net view)
well i did a lil research an i learned about that NetBIOS boy was that a
stupid move before i knew it i lost all internet connections on both computer
an they kept freezing up so after an hour of restoring both my systems I'm
right back at square one with two computers an no network

the network worked for about a month and on and off for a couple weeks then
just died no reason (no software changes,no hardware changes, no driver
updates, nothing) Well i imagine something must have done this, but after hours
upon hours of searching now i give i'm guessing this is even above the
experts.

but thanks anyways

You've got the first IP address wrong for ICS. If you use Windows ICS,
you have to use the set IP addresses. Since you've been going on with
this for so long, I highly suggest you call in a local professional to
set your network straight. It will probably be a matter of a quick job
for someone on-site. I'm not saying this to hurt your feelings; just
being practical.
