Crossover cable query

I have an ADSL USB modem and two PCs both running XP SP2, networked using a
Hub.
Is there any difference in the setup procedure between getting this going
using ICS, versus using a crossover cable between ethernet ports in place of
the Hub?
Is there any difference in performance or facilities between the two methods
regarding sharing net, files, and printer?
TIA

Hi
It does not matter Hub or Crossover (Hub is for two or more computers), as
long as the connection works well it the same ICS and the same File and
Printer Sharing.
Jack (MVP-Networking).

Disadvantage of using crossover cable: computer connected to internet (e.g.
providing ICS) must be on for second computer to access internet and /or to
access printer.
