On the profile editor, there's a great one that comes with the Windows Media
Encoder package. You just need a .prx file to start with. I posted this to
the Tips and Tricks thread in the SimplyDV forum for Movie Maker:
Tip 6 - Would you like to have your own personal custom choice included with
the hard-coded 'Others' when saving a movie ? Here's how to add a custom
profile:
1 - Download and install the Windows Media Encoder version 9 package. It's a
free download and there's a link on the Setup... Software page of
www.papajohn.org
2 - Don't use it - you're getting it just to have the Windows Profile Editor
utility that rides along with the Encoder
3 - Find a .prx file and double click it. It'll automatically open in the
Profile Editor. You get a .prx file by saving or exporting one from the
Windows Media Enocoder. An easier way is to just copy one of mine. Download
http://www.eicsoftware.com/pictures/PapaJohn/MM2/1024x768WMV7.prx
See by the file name I gave it that it saves movies using the version 7
codec at a size of 1024x768. So Mac can see it too!!
4 - Put the .prx file in the Movie Maker/Shared/Profiles folder.
5 - The next time you startup MM2, it'll check any .prx files in the folder
and include them in the list of saving options. If you've done everything
right up through now, check the list of choices and see that it includes
1024x768WMV7
6 - If you want more choices, edit the .prx file using the Profile Editor,
save them to new file names and add them to the folder.
