cropped graphics print wrong

When I insert a picture into a Word Document (Word 2002) and then crop it,
the picture does not print as it appears on screen and an unwanted cropped
area of the picture is being printed instead. My version of Word is no
longer deleting cropped areas, and I think this is causing the problem.
The "Delete cropped areas of pictures" check box has been selected on the
"Compression" tab (under "Format" - "Picture"), but makes no difference
whatsoever.
If anyone can recommend anything - I would really appreciate it!
