Critical Update message repeats after installation

The notification for the recent critical update for
Windows Media Player Script Commands KB828026 pops up
every day on start up even though the update has been
downloaded and installed successfully. What can I do to
stop the message from appearing?

Hi Patti

Thanks for the referral to the site with information to
fix the critical message repeat problem. When I went to
Add/Remove Programs and started to remove "Windows Media
Player Hotfix...828026..." I got a warning suggesting
that by deleting it a lot of other programs might not
work properly. This has me worried as to the consequences
so I didn't continue. Do you think I should I be
concerned about the message or just go ahead with the
delete?

Just acknowledge the message and continue.
Normally there are no issues for uninstalling the patch.
Reboot before you start as stated on the page.
