Creating Separate Inboxes

Is there a way to create two Inboxes? I have Outlook 2000, and my wife and I both get e-mails in the one inbox, and sometimes messages for the other person get lost. Can I set up an Inbox for her and one for myself? We can keep the same Outbox and Sent Items folder. Thanks for any advice. Dave

Yes, create separate profiles. (I assume you have separate e-mail addresses?)

Is that the only way to do it? It sounds like to have two separate inboxes, I have to close out of Outlook, log off the computer, then my wife would have to log on and open Outlook and get her mail. That's a big waste of time. I was hoping to set up a His Inbox and a Hers Inbox, and just click on one or the other without having to close out of Outlook. Is that possible? Dave

It's the best way to do it. You could create separate folders without
a single profile, add both e-mail addresses to the profile and try to use
a Rule to sort messages into the proper folder, but in my experience that's
a little klunky and doesn't always work that well - especially on messages
sent to both of you.

Hmm, it seems a really clunky way to do it. This is what bugs me about microsoft. There's no simple way to use it. If I had a couple of side businesses, I'd probably have an e-mail for each of them, and it would make sense to have each address delivered to a separate folder within the same user profile or sign-in - whatever they call it

Ben, thanks for your input. I appreciate your help
