Creating Recovery Tools CD for Windows XP Home

Hi all,

I have what seems to me to be a fairly dumb question, but I just cant work
it out...

I have a brand spanking new HP Pavilion with Windows XP Home Edition 2002,
Service Pack 2. Before you do anything with it, it asks you to create the
Recovery disks in case of problems later on. Easy enough...

I have created the first CD/DVD "System Recovery Disc" and it now asks me to
create the second "Recovery Tools CD". The first one was fine, burned with
no problems at all. However the second one will not complete the
verification process. I have no idea why!!! I have tried with CDs and DVDs
(though im sure it only accepts CDs) and it gets through the burning process
but will not complete the final verification process. It's driving me nuts!

The burner works fine for burning any other CDs -except this one crucial CD-
and I have tried lowering the recording speed too.

Can you please shed some light on to this for me?

Cheers, Lou.

Contact HP, they will be your best source for this and you may have a
defective computer. Take advantage of the warranty.

Thanks for the tip!

Unfortunately it's my Aunt's computer and she wasn't advised properly when
she bought the computer and thus decided not to buy the warranty. As far as
I can tell, we can't call HP without paying a service charge of $30AUD or
something a rather...!?

As an aside, I decided to check one of the "failed" cds that I had burned
and the data was on the CD (albeit "unverified"), so with any luck that will
suffice in the unfortunate circumstance of the computer completely dying.

Cheers, Lou
