I spent an hour on the phone yesterday trying to get the same issue
resolved. We went around and around. I cannot tell you how many times they
took me to the very same window - to do the very same task - to get the very
same failure. After that, they said they would send me the disc's. The
problem was never solved, which I would love to figure out! I'm hoping
someone will respond to you but my instinct tells me you better request the
recovery discs.
BTW, I tried both + and - DVD disc's and neither one worked.
That can be a little tougher.
First see if the drive can read CDs and DVDs.
Can you try a different writer?
If the computer is new and in warranty, contact thee manufacturer for
support.
