I'm trying to create a boot disk so I can start XP Home and remove files from
a computer that I think the hard drive is going bad. How do I copy boot.ini
file to disk? Search doesn't find boot.ini but I found it through My
Computer properties. Can copy the words, but paste to what?

Paste into Notepad and Save As boot.ini *NOT* as boot.ini.txt.

If Windows is on the C: drive the boot.ini should be in C:,

i.e. Paste the following line into Start | Run and click OK...

C:\boot.ini

boot.ini is a Hidden file.

I have been to this website, but it doesn't give specifics of how to copy
file.
And as I said searching files (even hidden etc.) did not find a boot.ini
file!

Thank you.
You answered exactly the question I had!
